This is a more demanding route that reaches San Pantaleo, the place where Leonardo’s mother lived. The path is named after the woman because it is believed that she used to walk it to visit her son Leonardo, who lived in the town of Vinci with his paternal grandparents.

The starting point is the Mulino della Doccia, just outside Vinci, and it allows visitors to admire the castle of the Guidi Counts. It was precisely in this area that Leonardo designed the creation of an artificial lake, as evidenced by some drawings in the Codex Atlanticus.

The Mulini Trail is a path that runs alongside the Vincio stream: along the route there are as many as 5 water mills, dating back between the 16th and 17th centuries.

This is a network of woodland and countryside roads connecting the localities of Anchiano, S. Lucia and Faltognano. A landmark is Leonardo’s birthplace. Another distinctive feature is the numerous dry-stone walls forming the typical terraces used for vine and olive cultivation: some date back to the 15th century.
